Standard Student Attire: On 5/11/07 the results of the SSA survey were released and 60.4% of the respondents APPROVED the SSA or 2007-2008.
The SSA is outlined below:
COLORS: BASIC-Khaki, Navy, White
ADDITIONAL-Maroon, Gold, Black
PANTS, SHORTS SKIRTS, SKORTS: NO blue jeans or blue jean material. Jeans in Basic or Additional colors only.
SWEATS/SWEAT SHIRTS: Basic or Additional colors are solids or patterns. NO other words or logos-school logo only.
SWEATERS: Basic or Additional colors in solids or patterns. NO other words except for school logo.
SHIRTS/BLOUSES: Basic or Additional colors in solids or patterns. Long-or short-sleeved. COLLARS are required. No words except for school logo.
TIES: Basic or Additional colors only with school logo.
SPECIAL OCCASIONS: The principal shall retain the authority to grant exceptions for school-wide free days. On those days, the CCSD Regulation 5131 is in effect.
CCSD Regulation 5131: ALL of the student attire outlined in CCSD Regulation 5131 is in effect as well as the additional regulations listed under SSA. These include:
ELECTRONIC DEVICES: Including cell phones, earphones, ipods, and walkmans. NO electronic devices are to be used or visible during school hours.
SHOES: NO house slippers, shower shoes, flip-flops, thong sandals
TOPS: NO crop tops, strapless, low-cut, or tops that provide minimum coverage
STRAPS: NO spaghetti straps. All sleeveless shirts must have straps at least THREE inches wide and cover the shoulder
PANTS: Pants and shorts must FIT and not be sagging or worn below the waist.
SHORTS, SKIRTS, DRESSES: ALL must be fingertip length, hemmed and no fraying
HEADGEAR: NO headgear except for designated school activities
NUISANCE: NO slogans, advertising, or messages that are controversial, obscene, or illegal and disrupt the educational setting
OTHER: ANY items, clothing, grooming, etc. that is considered to be a disruption of the educational setting may be regulated by the school administration
